a5c7b9f00b In the year 2258, it is ten years after the Earth-Minbari War. Commander Sinclair takes command of a giant five-mile-long cylindrical space station, orbiting a planet in neutral space. At a crossroads of interstellar commerce and diplomacy, Cmdr Sinclair (2d season Captain Sheridan) must try to establish peace and prosperity between various interstellar empires, all the while fighting forces from within the Earth Alliance. It is a precarious command, particularly given that sabotage led to the destruction of Babylon stations 1, 2, and 3 and 4 vanished without trace. In the mid 23rd Century, the Earth Alliance space station Babylon 5, located in neutral territory, is a major focal point for political intrigue, racial tensions and various wars over the course of five years. J. Michael Straczynski's series Babylon 5 is a brilliantly written and directed masterpiece. Unlike many series, which wander aimlessly from episode to episode, B5 flows almost seamlessly from season to season. Characters make decisions that they sometimes regret, and change because of those regrets. Top this off with breathtaking special effects, and you have a series that is probably the best Science Fiction program of all time. Even though my favourite all time series would have to be stargate sg1 & atlantis, babylon 5 would have to be the best thought out series i have ever seen. There is no other show that was built up for 4 seasons to an end product. This was fantastic.

Although it starts slow and there are many parts to the series which seem confusing at the start, the show goes on everything starts making sense to the 4th season being a great finale.

I don't rate the 5th season very highly, but i suppose there is not much that can be done when they finish the story line thinking it would be cancelled. Saying that the 5th season was mildly entertaining.

I recommend this to any real sci fi fan…
